Yesterday, on behalf of you, our members, Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) donated $100,000 from the Community Relief Fund to the Canadian Red Cross to support its wildfire relief efforts throughout the province. Now, we’re building on that momentum by challenging the Realtor community across the country to donate an additional $10,000 toward these efforts.
“Given our caring and generous Realtor community, we’re confident we can smash this goal and step up even more to support the thousands of evacuees impacted by wildfires in the Fraser Canyon, Okanagan and other drought-stricken regions of the province,” said GVR Chief Executive Officer Jeff King.
Your donations make a difference
With your contribution, the Canadian Red Cross can continue operating emergency reception centres, providing emergency lodging for evacuees and helping impacted communities become more resilient to climate change and natural disasters. Equally important, your support will provide hope and relief to evacuees as they navigate a challenging period in their lives.
Donations of all sizes make an impact, and we encourage everyone in our community to participate and help maximize our collective support for relief efforts.
“We challenge everyone in our community – including boards, brokerages and Realtors across the country – to contribute to this important cause. Collectively, we can show that we care deeply about the communities we serve and are here to support them whenever we’re called upon,” said King.

The Community Relief Fund
GVR’s major donation was made through its Community Relief Fund, which supports individuals and families facing housing instability following an unexpected crisis, tragedy or natural disaster, as well as organizations providing housing-related emergency and recovery assistance. The fund reflects GVR members’ longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities where they live and work.
